Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and proud Child of God Carmen Munizzi, passed away on August 16, 2024. She was 85 years old. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 16, 1938, Carmen was the daughter of the late Joseph Cassone Sr. and Gertrude (Scarpaci) Cassone. She lived in DeBary, FL and was retired.
Prior to her retirement she worked for Strang Communications in Lake Mary, FL. for 15 years as an administrative assistant and attended EpicLife Church in Winter Park, FL for several years, and later attended LivIt Church in Deland, FL. She was an accomplished pianist and worship leader and did so for over 60 years ministering alongside her husband Dominic in various churches and assisted living facilities throughout Central Florida. Carmen met her husband, Dominic (Danny) Munizzi, in Brooklyn, NY and they were married for 61 years until the time of Dominic’s transition to heaven on May 14, 2022.
Carmen was a generous, humble, kindhearted, and loving person, who never hesitated to put others first and to take care of those in need even when she didn’t have much to give. She was brave, patient, trusted in God and never lost the faith no matter what came her way. Carmen fought the good fight and will always be remembered by her loved ones and those she touched along the way. Her life was a testament to unwavering faith, and she embraced her calling in life and as the scriptures best describe her: (Proverbs 31:25) “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs with no fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule when she gives instructions. She carefully watches all that goes on in her household and does not have to bear the consequences of laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”.
She is survived by her children, Daniel S. Munizzi, and his wife, Martha; Joan A. Ingrao and her husband, George, Ronald J. Munizzi and his wife Tracy, and Lorraine Carlson and her husband, Aaron. She was also the cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
