Donna D. Lassiter, age 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at her home in Apopka, FL, with her daughters at her bedside.
She was born April 22, 1952 to Julius A. and Mildred “Millie” Diaz in Long Island, NY, before moving with the family to Florida in 1959. She graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, FL in 1970. She loved music, all kinds of music, sunflowers, butterflies, a good cheeseburger, New York cheesecake, laughing, shopping, cold pillows, college football (GO GATORS!), The Food Network, Mike & Molly, The Golden Girls, The Price is Right, sports cars, the beach, animals, living on the water and above all, her family. Donna was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother (Mema & Granny) and Great-Grandmother, and family time was always first on her list. She co-owned and operated an earmold manufacturing company located in Altamonte Springs, FL, Precision Laboratories, from 1993-2018, with her then-husband William “Bill” Lassiter. She was truly one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy L. Gluhan (Jonathan), her daughter Gale L. Jones (Gavin), her granddaughter, Skyler Coomer, her grandson, Keegan Coomer, her grandson, Derek Thompson (Summer) her great-granddaughter, Breyleigh Coomer (Skyler), her great-granddaughter Mayle Thompson (Derek) her sister Linda May (Terry), her sisters-in-law Linda Sue Diaz and Yvonne Diaz, her nieces Penny Carpenter (Miles) and Kristie Berry (Rick), her nephews Carl Diaz (Joyce), Ron Diaz (Vivian), Mark Swanson (Laurie) and many more cousins and loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL.; where Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Mrs. Lassiter will be laid to rest immediately following at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka FL.
