Robert John Rivas

Robert John Rivas was born on March 26, 1960 in Trinidad and Tobago. He was the fifth child of seven children to Calthorpe and Pearl Rivas. He migrated to the United States in 1980. Robert departed this life at Advent Hospital of Orlando on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 3:30 pm.

Robert was educated at San Juan Government Secondary School in Trinidad, and at TESST Electronics and Montgomery College in Maryland where he studied biomedical engineering. After graduating he worked at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC for 30 years as a biomedical technician and then promoted to manager. He was married to the love of his life Janice Anderson for 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice, a son Bobby, daughters Nicole and Kelly, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rivas, siblings Marlene (Ronneal), Claude (Rosaline), Margaret (Ron), Marcus (Paula), Angela (Gerald) and Francisca (Jorgen), in-laws Gregory and Josann, several nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.


He will be missed by his family and members for his infectious smile and jovial personality. May his soul rest in peace and eternal light shine upon him.
