Shauna Hope Kerr-Vaz

Shauna Hope Kerr-Vaz, born on April 4, 1960, in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, passed away surrounded by love on September 22, 2024, at AdventHealth Hospice in Orlando, Florida. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Shauna lived a vibrant life, filled with joy and laughter. She graduated from Mount Alvernia High School, and furthered her studies in New York and at Keiser College. Her professional journey began with jobs at Jamaica Cable and Wireless and Price Waterhouse, where her talents shone brightly. Later, she became a member of Mears Transportation, dedicating herself to her work until her early departure in 2014.

Known as the life of the party, Shauna was a beacon of light for those around her. Her carefree spirit and fun-loving personality were infectious, drawing friends and family alike into her warm embrace. Her flair for fashion and love of music created countless delightful moments shared with friends. Shauna possessed a remarkable photographic memory, allowing her to relish in the memories of shared laughter, unforgettable times, and cherished relationships.

Above all, Shauna was a devoted sister and aunt, her heart adorned with affection for her family. Her love for her nieces and nephews knew no bounds; they were her pride and joy, and she poured her nurturing spirit into their lives, embracing every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her loving father, Michael Horatio Kerr; her brothers Desmond Lee Hue and his wife, Margaret, Michael “Andrew” Kerr and his partner, Audrey Powell, and Audley Kerr and his wife, Suzette; her cherished sisters Gahnies Kerr-Campbell, Rhonda Kerr, Chaneese Kerr, and Grace Kerr; beloved aunts and uncles, cherished cousins, darling nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dulcie Mildred Kerr; and two brothers: Robert Kerr, and Thomas Anthony Hue.

Shauna’s family will be honoring her life with visitation and a funeral service on a date to be announced shortly.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando.

As we remember Shauna, we hold tight to the memories she created and the warmth she brought into our lives. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever remain in our hearts. Our lives have been enriched by her presence, and though she may be gone, the love she shared will continue to inspire us all.
