Jesus Hernandez

Jesus Hernandez, age 86, of 951 Jadestone Circle, Orlando, Florida 32828, passed away on September 21, 2024.

He was born in Moca, Puerto Rico, on April 30, 1938, to parents Domingo and Paula Hernandez. At the age of 9, he moved to New York. At 17, he joined the Air Force, where he served as a Military Police officer. He later met Nellie Acevedo in Brooklyn, and they were married on July 4, 1958. Together, they had four children: Jay, PeeWee, Teresa, and Linda.

In 2004, he relocated to Orlando and became an active member of the “Casa Puerto Rico” association. There, he met many wonderful friends and shared special moments, indulging in his passions for music, dancing, and playing dominoes. Chu was also a die-hard Mets fan. Known for his generous heart, he was deeply compassionate and would often buy meals for complete strangers in need.

He was a loving caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Hernandez; son, Jay Hernandez; daughters, Teresa Soto and Linda Rivera; grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Dalia, Sabrina, A.J., Allison, Selina, and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Kyara, Alina, Jojo, Delilah, Nio, Rocky, Knox, Caleb, Lucas, Josiah, and Darius; and his sisters, Carmen Hernandez and Josephine Aviles.
