Driver injured in road rage shooting on Florida’s Turnpike

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a road rage shooting incident on Florida’s Turnpike in Orange County that injured a man on Thursday morning.

According to FHP, the shooting occurred at around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike at mile marker 251 in Orlando.

FHP stated that a 33-year-old male victim was traveling on the Turnpike when he discovered that his vehicle, a blue Tesla Model Y, had been struck by gunfire. He then realized that his right leg had sustained a gunshot wound.

Two bullet holes were discovered on the driver’s side door of the victim’s vehicle.

The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

An investigation revealed that a second vehicle, believed to be a gray or silver Volkswagen hatchback, was involved in a road rage incident with the victim at the time of the shooting, according to FHP.

No further details were provided by FHP regarding the shooting suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
