Deacon Henry P. Libersat, Jr.

Went to eternal rest with the Lord on September 26, 2024.

Henry was born in Port Authur Texas, July 4th 1934. Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry Pierre Libersat Sr and Elder Zeringue Libersat, his older brother Chuck Libersat and his loving wife, Peggy Libersat.

He is survived by all 7 seven children, David (Susie) Libersat, Tony (Linda) Libersat, Karen (Dale) Honeycutt, Mary Libersat, Suzanne (Tim) Pelland, Angela (Butch) Bryant, Pierre (Laurel) Libersat. He has 3 generations of grandchildren.

Before Alzheimer’s took his life, Henry dedicated his life to support Christianity and visited prisons to counsel those in need. He worked for the Diocese of Orlando Florida where he served as a Deacon at St Mary Magdalen Parish. Henry mentored others wanting to serve the Lord in the Diaconate Program. He retired from the Florida Catholic newspaper as the managing editor.

Henry served as Chaplain for the Winter Springs Police Department. As a journalist, Henry had written 3 books and co-authored 2 books with Sister Bridge McKenna.

Henry supported his family with love and faith. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Saint Mary Magdalen Parrish, 861 Maitland Ave in Maitland Fl. Day and times are pending.

Henry will be missed for his spiritual leadership and love for life.
