A suspected drug dealer from Central Florida has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with the January 2024 overdose death of a 24-year-old woman.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, detectives arrested Nathan Vincent LeBeau, 24, of DeLand, this week on a manslaughter charge. He has been in custody at the Volusia County Jail for the past eight months on numerous drug charges stemming from an investigation into the death of a young woman.
On January 29, 2024, a 24-year-old Deltona woman died from a suspected drug overdose. The VCSO Overdose Task Force quickly identified LeBeau as the individual who allegedly sold drugs to the victim prior to her fatal overdose.
LeBeau was arrested on January 31, 2024, after he allegedly sold drugs to an undercover agent. During his arrest, law enforcement recovered several pills identified as Oxycodone, which field-tested positive for the presence of fentanyl, according to VCSO.
On February 29, 2024, the VCSO Overdose Task Force submitted the case to the State Attorney’s Office for review, which ultimately led to LeBeau being charged with manslaughter.
LeBeau is currently being held at Volusia County Jail without bond. According to VCSO, the State Attorney’s Office has plans to amend the manslaughter charge and will present the case to a grand jury for first-degree murder once the grand jury reconvenes.
Jail records show that LeBeau has also been charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, trafficking in fentanyl (over 4 grams but less than 14 grams), possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
