Firefighters rushed to an Orlando apartment complex on Thursday after several units became engulfed in flames.
According to the Orlando Fire Department, firefighters responded to the 6200 block of Westgate Drive on Thursday, October 3, in reference to a two-alarm fire.
Upon arrival, OFD crews observed heavy smoke, and they immediately began blasting the apartment building with water to combat the flames.
OFD stated that its crew members managed to extinguish the flames, keeping the fire contained to two apartments.
Firefighters rescued one cat, which was unharmed, and there were no injuries reported.
No details were provided by fire department officials regarding the cause or origin of the blaze.
A total of four apartments are “unable to be occupied,” according to OFD. The American Red Cross, along with management from the apartment complex, were notified to assist the affected tenants with relocation.
