Mary Gray McArthur, aged 83, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. Born on March 18, 1941, Mary was a beacon of joy and resilience, embracing life with a vibrant spirit and unwavering zest even as she courageously battled cancer.

Mary’s voice was a source of beautiful music, reflecting her vivacious personality and love for celebration. Known as the life of any gathering, she cherished moments spent singing and bringing people together. Her profound love for family was evident in the dedicated care she showed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, weaving lasting memories and a legacy of love. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, earning her the endearing title of “mom” from many who felt the impact of her kindness and generosity.

A proud alumna of Gartlock Physiatrist School of College, Mary used her academic foundation to build a successful career as a portfolio manager at SunTrust and HBJ. In her professional life, she was highly regarded for her financial acumen and was known as a sought-after Portfolio Manager in Orlando.

Mary’s personal life was deeply enriched by connections with her family. She is survived by her sisters Martha Mejia of Orlando, FL, Willima Mazzone of Milford, CT, and Penny Hanlon of Garrowhill, Scotland; her children Karen McArthur, Jaqualyn Pugh, Derek McArthur, and Angela McArthur; her seven grandchildren, Tiffany McArthur, Iain and Amber Pugh, Kaleb and Kylee Aquino, Alexandria Allen, and Nicholas McArthur; and her great-grandson, Ostin Nielsen. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm McArthur, her parents, Henry and Mary Forbes, and her brother, Alex Forbes.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on November 10, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Orange County Sportsman Association, 9020 Kilgore Road, Orlando, FL 32836 in Baline Hall, with services commencing at 2:00 p.m.

Mary’s life was a melody of love, courage, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones.
