Our precious Mother, Karen Marino, passed away on November 1, 2024, after a three-month battle with an anoxic brain injury. Karen fought as long as she could, but ultimately succumbed to her injury. Born on December 22, 1959, in Middletown, New York, to her parents, Angel and Irene Quiles. Karen is survived by her children, Joshua and his Fiancé, Jacqueline, Rachael and Erica; her six grandchildren, Ariana, Justin, Jade, Kaylee, Annabella and Elena; her siblings, Lorraine and Alan and his Wife, Autumn; her ten nieces and nephews, her five great- nieces and nephews, and her extended family.
Karen spent her life nurturing deep connections with her family and friends. A devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness faith, Karen committed her time to spiritual growth and fellowship. She found joy in reading the Bible and studying for her meetings, activities that enriched her faith and brought her closer to her community and Jehovah God.
Karen’s love extended beyond her religious community; she cherished moments with her grandchildren, children, family and friends. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, playing games on her phone, catching up on TV shows and movies, and of course, reading—a passion that brought her comfort and joy throughout her life.
Karen enriched the lives of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews through her teachings and wisdom. She has touched the lives of so many with her quick-witted sense of humor and captivating laughter. Karen’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. Karen’s warmth and dedication to her loved ones and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
