Matthew Benoit Lamontagne was a remarkable man that touched many lives deeply. Matthew was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin to many, and a light to all who had a pleasure of knowing him.

For his mother Brenda, Matthew was a beloved son. She helped and guided him through his life with unconditional love and endless encouragement that shaped him into a wonderful man. Every challenge and every joy, Matthew knew he could count on her steady strength and unwavering devotion. Their mother and son connection was a testament enduring and filled with grace. Matthew carried strength, kindness, and perseverance instilled in him in everything he did. It also showed in Matthew’s unique way of making a reminder to the importance of love and respect for family and friends. Many of which lived in Ohio, South Carolina, and Florida.

Matthew grew up with his big brother Joshua and they had countless adventures and good times. Like the time Matthew was about 3yrs old and wanted to play with his brother that had just started school. Matthew walked several blocks by himself, found the school office and waited patiently for the door to open. Matthew walked in and up to the desk and wanted to know “where is my Bubba at”. Matthew grew up loving his Gizmo stuff animal that he still had. Matthew loved all of nature’s creatures. Dogs, cats, snakes, birds (especially owls), and alligators.

He loved camping in the mountains and swimming and fishing in Florida. Also, he loved the relaxing times at the beach along with rocket launches.
Matthew, the father of a beautiful daughter Sierra, that he loved dearly and kept him grounded. Matthew was planning to move back to South Carolina to be closer to her. He said, “nothing was more important than a parent’s love”. Matthew had a niece and a nephew. To Madeline and Josiah, he was a fun loving uncle that brought joy and adventure to their lives. Matthew leaves them all with their own treasured memories and will be watching over them always.

As Matthew lived with the zest in life, he carried that into his work life. Matthew got praise for the jobs he did and would not hesitate to also do the things necessary to make a project easier. Never being idle and volunteering to help others to succeed in their projects. It may have been a job, but he made everyone feel like family. Matthew’s craftsmanship and devotion will be missed by all he worked with and worked for.

Matthew’s free spirit and vibrant soul were key points of his personality. He loved to play the guitar, draw, paint, and write deep inspirational thoughts. Matthew always spoke with his heart and was guided by his passion for nature and simplicity.

Matthew had renewed his devotion and vows to Christ to begin a lasting legacy of love and kindness. As we remember the spirit of Matthew, he is gone from sight but his zest for life lives inside each of us in every memory and his spirit in every moment of kindness.
Matthew Lamontagne, we will always know you are there watching over us all and know how you filled our hearts with happiness and joy. Rest in peace until we can all meet you again in our Father’s Kingdom. You will always be remembered, loved, and missed forever. God Bess you and everyone who knew you. Amen.
