The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation at a local park after a “significant” amount of blood was found inside a public bathroom.

According to FCSO, the blood was discovered when deputies conducted a security check at Hidden Trails Park (6108 Mahogany Boulevard in Daytona North) on Monday, November 11.

On that date, deputies entered one of the public bathrooms and found a “significant amount of blood,” which was determined to be human.

Multiple deputies and K-9’s searched the surrounding area. However, no individuals were found in the area, and no further evidence regarding the source of the blood was located.

“We are actively investigating this situation, and any information from the public could be critical to helping us determine what occurred,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “Whatever happened could be just an accident or it could be something more serious.”

Sheriff Staly encourages anyone who may have information about what happened at Hidden Trails Park on November 11, or who may have witnessed anything unusual in the area on that date, to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at 386-437-4116.

“You might just have the information we need to determine the source of the blood,” added Sheriff Staly.
