Police are searching for an armed suspect who robbed a liquor store in Central Florida on Saturday.
According to the Mount Dora Police Department, officers responded to Viva Liquor (101 South Highland Street in Mount Dora) at around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, in reference to an armed robbery incident.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim. She advised that a male suspect, who was “dressed in all black” and wearing a ski mask, approached her as she was about to enter her vehicle.
The victim told police that the suspect then pointed a black and silver semi-automatic firearm at her and took her purse. The suspect also allegedly demanded the victim’s cellphone, but she refused to hand it to him.
Moments later, the suspect allegedly threatened to shoot the victim before fleeing the area in a silver SUV. The make and model of the SUV is currently unknown.
MDPD stated that the suspect’s SUV was last seen traveling westbound on 1st Avenue toward Clayton Street in Mount Dora.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
