I’m Fermin Lugo Jr., 71, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and raised in Quebradillas, to Fermin Lugo Sr. and Sofia Serrano.

Early in life, Fermin became a nurse at El Buen Pastor Hospital before moving to Homestead, Florida, to start a new chapter. Eventually, he settled in Orlando, Florida, where he lived the remainder of his life. There, he worked “hand in hand” with Mickey Mouse to make Disney great again.

Fermin is survived by his wife, Angela, and her three daughters; his children Moises, Jonathan, and Evelyn (Sulay) from his first wife, Evelyn; Luis and Jordan from his second wife, Nancy; and Misael from his third wife, Ingrid. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. (Yes! A very eventful life.)

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Pura and Magda, as well as his nephew Joel, who will undoubtedly be keeping him company.

Fermin wasn’t a perfect man by any stretch of the imagination, but those who truly knew him loved and respected him—and most of all, enjoyed spending time with him. He had an unmatched talent for making people laugh, and no matter what he did, it was nearly impossible to stay mad at him.

Fermin held a “doctorate” in Comedius Paternal Linguistics (a.k.a. dad jokes), loved collecting movies, never missed an episode of Sábado Gigante with Don Francisco and El Chacal, and was an avid fan of the Jurassic Park series.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.
