Jacques Hugues Plaisimond, a quiet and reserved gentleman, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. Born in Camp-Perrin, Les Cayes, Haiti, Jacques was the beloved son of Enel Plaisimond and Carmel Bernard.
From a young age, Jacques demonstrated a passion for soccer, a love that stayed with him throughout his life. He was an ardent supporter of Brazil’s national soccer team and the New York Knicks in basketball, often following their games with great enthusiasm.
Jacques pursued his education with dedication, completing his primary studies at the School of the Brothers of Christian Instruction in Camp-Perrin. He continued his secondary education at Lycee Firmin in Port-au-Prince and furthered his academic pursuits in accounting at Maurice Laroche. In Haiti, he worked as an accountant for BNDAI, contributing his skills to the organization with diligence and professionalism.
In 1984, Jacques immigrated to the United States, embarking on a new chapter of his life. However, the roots of his love story began years earlier in 1981, when he met and fell deeply in love with Elsie. Together, they built a life of love and companionship, residing in Queens, New York, for over 30 years. Jacques worked as a nurse tech, where his caring and attentive nature touched the lives of many.
Outside of his professional life, Jacques found joy in the simple pleasures. He loved listening to music, finding solace and happiness in its melodies. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in his garden, where he nurtured plants with the same patience and care he extended to those around him.
Jacques will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved Elsie, his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and quiet strength.
His life is a testament to the values of love, perseverance, and humility. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory forever be a blessing.
