Lambros Theodoredis
THEODOREDIS, LAMBROS, age 85, passed away November 9, 2024 in Orlando, FL. Born January 16, 1939 in Vyroneia, Greece, Lambros first arrived in the United States via Cleveland, OH, before moving to Buffalo, NY, and eventually settling in Orlando, FL. He immigrated with dreams of building a joyful, fulfilling and successful life, which by all accounts he achieved. Lambros was known by a lot of different names like husband, father, dad, Papou, Theo, grandfather, great grandfather, Bobby, Bobby the Greek, Ted and on some occasions even the Mayor of Curry Ford.
Lambros is survived by his wife Rose, his two sons John and Joseph (Sandra), two stepdaughters Penny and Tammy, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his sister, Netisa. Lambros was preceded in death by his son Demetrios, and his brothers, Aneste and Jay as well as his sister Debbie. He loved his family dearly and cherished all the moments that he spent with them.
Lambros transitioned from working in the restaurant business, painting, and optical industry in Buffalo, New York to the shoe repair business at Ted’s Shoe Repair in Orlando, Florida. He purchased and ran Ted’s Shoe Repair for 45 years from 1977 to 2022. He never forgot his earlier experience. He would always adjust your glasses if they seemed a little crooked. He would tell you how to cook something, especially if it was Greek food.
Lambros was a man of faith and always a defendant of his Greek Orthodox Church. He always wore the Phos Zoe cross symbolizing the light and life of Christ. The nature of light is that it cannot help but banish darkness. This light enables us to see the spiritual truth. The nature of light is the opposite of death. Human life ends, but through Christ, our spiritual life is everlasting.
Lambros could always be found helping his friends, family and acquaintances because he believed in doing what he could for everyone in his life. He enjoyed helping the church with their Greek Festival celebrations. He loved celebrating Greek Easter, Pascha, with his family and friends. He would enjoy explaining the meaning of Pascha and recalling celebrations in Greece, Cleveland, Buffalo and Orlando.
Lambros may have been a short man but he had an enormous heart and spirit. He loved to talk and make friends with everyone he met. He loved starting a conversation with anyone in the hopes of having a new friend or passing on some wisdom. He maintained all of his friendships, including those from his days in Cleveland and Buffalo. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge, a Mason and even a Kentucky Colonel as well.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando FL 32806.
