Carroll Curtis, age 94, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was born in Elizabethton, TN to the late Walter Curtis and Pauline Curtis (Morrell).

He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine “Geri” (Upchurch) Curtis.

Carroll served in the US Navy after graduating high school. He ended his military service in 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. He then started his career at Glenn L. Martin Company, where he also met his future wife, Geri. He transferred with Martin Marietta to Orlando, Florida as a Machine Shop Supervisor, and eventually retired after 30 years of loyal service.

He was a proud member of the Orlando Masonic Lodge 69, where he was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite mason. He was also a member of the Bahia Shriners. He loved donating his time to these fraternal organizations and helping people in his community. He spent his afternoons at the American Legion Post 286 sharing stories of his life and his unwavering opinions on new events in the world.

Carroll enjoyed years with his hobby growing orchids and loved sharing his passion with other orchid growers. He won numerous awards through the American Orchid Society. After retirement, he made multiple trips to his hometown in Tennessee to visit family and friends, where he spent many summers growing his vegetable garden, canning, and growing beautiful flowers.

Carroll had a witty sense of humor that we will never forget. He always had a funny quote for every occasion that would leave you laughing.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Curtis and Timothy Curtis (Orlando, FL), and his daughter, Sheila (Curtis) Robinson, son in law Michael Robinson (Murfreesboro, TN), his grandsons Michael and Jonathan, and his great-grandsons Ethan and Owen. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Hood (Elizabethton, TN), and has several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration Gathering for Carroll will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 3:00 p.m. to follow by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. by the American Legion. Woodlawn Funeral Home 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, Fl. 34734
