Peter James Hagstrom (Pete) was born in Covina, CA on May 31, 1960. He died peacefully in hospice, Altamonte Springs, FL on November 25, 2024, following a long battle with cancer.

Pete is pre-deceased by his parents Paul and Jeanne Hagstrom. He leaves behind siblings Dan (& Andrea) Hagstrom, Barbara (and Dan) DeWitt, Dave Hagstrom and Tom (and Hoang) Hagstrom. Pete was the youngest. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Pete grew up in West Hartford, CT. He played youth league football and participated in the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed playing in a small pick-up band in which he played saxophone. Pete became an accomplished printer and bookbinder and worked for many years at The Travelers in its then thriving print shop.

In 1992, Pete moved to FL to be near relatives where he was outgoing and fun to be around. He loved life. He loved to laugh. He loved cooking. He loved singing rock & roll songs. He enjoyed watching sports on TV with a special fondness for football and tennis. He especially loved Halloween night at Disneyworld and enjoyed having the ghouls try to scare him.

In many ways, life loved Pete too. He could enchant all those who encountered him. He was engaging, social and a “talker”. Once, Pete toured Morocco. The tour involved tour busses traveling from city to city. In every city, the same group of children appeared trying to sell the same souvenir trinkets to the tour group. Everyone, except Pete, tried to avoid these tenacious young entrepreneurs. Pete, on the other hand, was adopted by the children. He walked with them – laughing and watching while the children tried to sell their trinkets. The kids loved him! They did not try selling anything to him. He was one of them!!

Pete had many friends most of whom were lifetime friends with whom he kept in touch. Without doubt, they too will miss Pete greatly. He was a treasure to us all.

The family would like to thank the staff of Florida Advent Health Altamonte Springs Hospice for their loving care of Pete in his final days.
