A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in a Best Buy parking lot in Sanford on Tuesday evening.
According to the Sanford Police Department, officers responded to the Best Buy located at 1501 Rinehart Road shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, December 17, in reference to shots being fired in the area.
When officers arrived at the store’s parking lot, they found a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The victim was identified by Sanford police as 21-year-old Terance Darnell Pope.
No further details were released by law enforcement regarding the shooting incident or any potential suspect(s).
“At this time investigators are asking anyone in the area at that time who may have seen something, or anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Sanford Police Department,” said SPD in a social media post early Wednesday morning.
