Donald Berry Jr., affectionately known as Gary or Bigga, a remarkable man whose journey was defined by determination, hard work, and an enduring love for his family, was born on March 9, 1960, in Kingston, St. Andrews, Jamaica, to Donald Berry Sr. and Lillian Berry.

Donald was one of six brothers, three of whom predeceased him. His story began in the family home at 39 Swallowfield Road, Cross Roads. From these humble beginnings, Donald built a life that inspired and touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Donald’s early years were marked by a steadfast commitment to excellence. After graduating from Papine Secondary School in 1977, he pursued vocational training in electrical work, dedicating two years to mastering his craft. But Donald was much more than an academic-he was also a gifted athlete, excelling as a sprinter in the 100m and 200m races. His discipline and determination on the track became a reflection of the way he approached every aspect of his life.

Even as a young man, Donald demonstrated a sharp business acumen and a natural talent for leadership. In his late teens and early twenties, he managed a successful taxi business, an early glimpse of the entrepreneurial spirit that would define his life. Donald was always thinking ahead, always building, and always striving for success.
In his adult years, Donald reached new heights of achievement as a business owner. He founded and operated Freeze-Well Air Condition Limited, a thriving air conditioning company. Through this endeavor, he met Cheryl, his life partner and collaborator. Together, they not only built a business but also a shared dream. They expanded their ventures by opening Santa Fee Guest House, a successful hotel business. Their dedication and teamwork left a legacy of hard work, innovation, and excellence.

After closing their businesses in 2022, Donald and Cheryl set their sights on a new chapter: preparing to migrate to the United States. This move symbolized Donald’s unyielding ambition and desire to seek new opportunities, even later in life.
In October 2023, Donald settled in America, where he continued to pursue personal and professional growth. At the age of 64, he achieved a remarkable milestone, earning his high school diploma in April 2024-a proud moment for him and his family. Never content to stop striving, Donald began an HVAC certification program in August 2024, aiming to complete it in May 2025. His determination to achieve new successes even in a new country was nothing short of inspiring.

Donald was not only a hardworking businessman but also a devoted father to his three children: Shauna-Kay, Shari, and Jayden. His love for his family was steadfast, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with opportunities and support. To his children, he was a beacon of strength, guidance, and unconditional love.

On December 12, 2024, Donald Berry Jr. passed away at his home in Orlando, Florida. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his loved ones. Yet, his legacy remains alive in the lessons he taught, the values he upheld, and the countless lives he touched.
