A 45-year-old Orlando man was killed on Wednesday evening after his motorcycle struck a car that was turning onto a State Road 528 entrance ramp in Orange County.

The fatal crash occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, near the intersection of Landstreet Road and the SR 528 entrance ramp, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP stated that prior to the accident, a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu was heading eastbound on Landstreet Road, approaching the entrance ramp to SR 528. At the same time, a 2022 Yamaha MTN890 motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Landstreet Road, near the same intersection, in the outside lane.

The Chevrolet’s driver and sole occupant, a 64-year-old Orlando man, began to make a left turn to travel onto SR 528. As the car entered the intersection, it traveled into the direct path of the motorcycle.

The car’s front section proceeded to strike the right side of the motorcycle.

The rider and sole occupant of the motorcycle was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The report stated that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
