Ronald Lynn Sims, 83, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025.
Ron was born on February 17, 1941, to Lacey Lynn and Walter Bruce Sims. He graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy and went on to earn his undergraduate degree at Emory University. He then graduated from the University of Florida College of Law and passed the Florida Bar in 1967.
Ron had a lifetime career practicing family law in Orlando. He had a big heart and cherished many things, especially his love for family. His wife, Toni; his sister, Donna, and her sons, Randy and Gordon; his children, Kevin (and Matt), Derrick (and Kristine), and Colby (and Nikki); his beloved grandchildren: Tanner, Kendall, Parker, Cutter, Emma, and great-grandbaby Colton all held a special place in his heart.
Ron also greatly treasured his friends, his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers, his identity as a Florida Gator, his deep love for America, and his unwavering faith in Jesus. Ron was known for his humor, and he loved that gatherings with family and friends felt like a reunion of laughter and joy.
We find comfort in knowing Ron is at home with his heavenly family, probably sharing his jokes there too. As we remember him, we can’t help but smile, knowing he’s still bringing light and laughter even in his new home as promised in Matthew 25:23.
