Matthew Thomas Johnson, 41, of Maitland Florida passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025 at Advent Health ICU in Winter Park after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Born on November 19, 1983, in Pensacola Florida, Matthew was the son of Dixie Johnson,
Maitland Florida and Tom Johnson of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. He is survived by his mother Dixie Johnson and father and stepmother Tom and Melissa Johnson, his brother whom he loved, Tom Stone and sister-in-Law Missy Stone of Hollywood Florida, sister Angela Hegwood of Pensacola Florida, nephew Dylan Stone and niece Summer Stone of Hollywood Florida.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides.

After relocating to Maitland, Matthew attended Edgewater High School, where he graduated with honors. He furthered his education at Winter Park Tech School, studying Information Technology and graduated as a Member of the National Honor Society. Matthew’s professional journey led him to the Adult Achievement Center for Autistic Adults, where he served at IT Director. An exemplary leader in the autism community and a capable computer technician. An avid gamer, Matthew was known among his friends as a Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons.

Several years ago, Matthew gave his life to Jesus and was baptized in the water. He was quick to answer questions in Bible Studies, prayed aloud when given the opportunity and loved to worship God. We celebrate that Matthew is now fully alive in the presence of Jesus and that the Lord has put an end to all of his suffering.

Plans are for a Celebration of Life for Matthew. More information will be available when
everything is set.
