A man was recently arrested by U.S. Marshals in Ohio for his alleged involvement in a murder that occurred one and a half years ago in Orlando.
On Saturday, July 8, 2023, at around 7:40 a.m., an individual called 911 to report a vehicle crash at the intersection of Summerlin Avenue and Palmer Street, according to the Orlando Police Department.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim – identified by police as 56-year-old Terrance Dolan – inside the vehicle. His injuries “did not appear consistent with a motor vehicle accident,” said OPD in a media release.
Dolan was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
An investigation was launched by OPD, which eventually led detectives to identifying 25-year-old Herlin Petion as a suspect in Dolan’s death.
Over a year later, on Monday, February 3, 2025, Petion was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Dayton, Ohio. He was transported to Montgomery County Jail, where he remains in custody while awaiting extradition to Orange County.
Petion faces charges of second-degree murder with a weapon.
“This is all the information we can provide at this time,” said OPD in an update on Monday.
