A 47-year-old man was arrested by Orlando police after he allegedly threatened to harm a local 7-Eleven employee with a knife.
According to the Orlando Police Department, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located near the intersection of Edgewater Drive and W Colonial Drive in Orlando at around 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, in reference to a knife-wielding man threatening a clerk.
While heading to the incident location, OPD officers located a male suspect, identified as Rodney Marcelle Clemons, on Putnam Avenue.

According to the store employee/victim, Clemons had entered the 7-Eleven to purchase a drink and a cigar, but he “became upset” over the price of those items.
The victim told officers that Clemons then proceeded to pull a knife from his backpack. While wielding the knife, Clemons then allegedly threatened to kill the victim.
OPD stated that Clemons pushed multiple items off a nearby table and threw a bottle, which struck the victim’s arm. Officers reviewed the store’s video surveillance footage from the time of the incident, which corroborated the victim’s statement.

Officers searched the area surrounding the 7-Eleven and recovered a knife. They also allegedly found a “crack-like substance” in Clemons’ possession that field-tested positive for cocaine.

Clemons was placed under arrest and transported to Orange County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and possession of cocaine.
