The owner of a Volusia County cleaning company was arrested after a customer accused her of stealing multiple items, including thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Ormond Beach resident Catherine “Katie” Arianna Schulz was arrested last week after a female customer reported several items missing from her residence.

VCSO stated that the missing items included a total of $18,500 in jewelry, a pair of Adidas sneakers, and unspecified medication.

An investigation was launched, and a detective tracked down the stolen jewelry at a pawn shop in Port Orange. Video surveillance footage was obtained, which allegedly showed a woman, identified as Schulz, pawning the items.

On Wednesday, January 29, Schulz was placed under arrest and transported to Volusia County Jail. The following day, she was released after posting a $10,000 bond, and she is facing multiple felony charges that include grand theft from a dwelling, fraud, and dealing in stolen property.

An arraignment hearing is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, according to Volusia County Court records.
