The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a murder suspect who is believed to be in the DeLand area.
According to VCSO, deputies are actively looking for a man, identified as 50-year-old Scott C. Mitchell, who is believed to be “armed and dangerous.” He is wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Binghamton, New York.
VCSO stated on social media that Mitchell was traveling in a vehicle, though it has since been recovered by law enforcement. Mitchell is now believed to be on foot, possibly in the West DeLand area.
Mitchell stands 5’11” tall, weighs 210 pounds, and has blue eyes and blonde/red hair. He previously had a beard, which he recently shaved off.
