A 61-year-old man who was arrested last year by the Orlando Police Department, as part of a multi-agency investigation targeting child predators, has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison.

On Thursday, February 20, U.S. District Judge Julie Sneed sentenced Kissimmee resident Pooran Ramjattan to 10 years behind bars for attempted enticement to meet a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Ramjattan pleaded guilty to the charge in November of 2024.

According to court records, an undercover agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation posed online as a 13-year-old girl. The undercover agent was contacted by a man, later identified as Ramjattan, on May 1, 2024.

Ramjattan proceeded to communicate via text messages with the undercover agent, who stated multiple times that they were 13 years old, through May 11, 2024.

The arrest report states that Ramjattan “initiated a conversation regarding sex with the undercover (agent).” He told the agent posing as the 13-year-old girl that he wanted to “make love and enjoy each other’s company.”

Ramjattan further stated in the messages that he wanted to kiss the 13-year-old girl “all over,” and he asked, “You ready for your body to be loved completely?” As the conversation continued, he asked the teen to “flash him,” and he sent a link for a pornographic website.

According to the report, Ramjattan eventually asked the undercover agent to “delete the text messages” because “we can’t have anything to incriminate against us.”

On May 11, 2024, Ramjattan made arrangements to meet with the 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity. At around 8:15 p.m. that evening, Ramjattan arrived at a predetermined meeting spot in Orange County, and he was met by law enforcement and taken into custody.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Orlando Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson.

Additionally, the case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, which is a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
