Austin Chandler Kemp, born October 8, 1993, received his heavenly wings surrounded by many people that loved him dearly, on February 16, 2025.
The many people that knew Austin always spoke of his quick wit and keen sense of humor but rarely fully understood the daily physical and medical challenges he faced as this is not what he allowed to define him. His medical resume was extensive, but when pressed about how he handled these hurdles his response was always “there are many others that have it much worse than I do!”
Always referring to himself as a “conditioned athlete,” he was not given the gift to pursue athletic endeavors at a high level, therefore he replaced that void as being the self-appointed “acting general manger” for the Orlando Magic, Florida Gators, and the Baltimore Ravens.
Sitting on the edge of his seat with each game, dependent on the season, his duties also included “managing” NBA free agency, staying current on Gator scholarship commitments, and naturally plenty of pre-NFL draft prep with his team of other avid fans of each respective team really quite the feat as no other GM has attempted such diversity.
Although Austin’s journey touched many people along the way, the two closest people to him, that will miss him greatly, are his younger brother Brady Kemp and his long-time girlfriend, Jamie Harden. The closeness and bond he shared with each are relationships many people search a lifetime to find. The unwaveringly love and selfless support absolutely made his life as fulfilling as possible.
Austin is also survived by his father, Keith Kemp, his paternal grandparents, Tim and Karen Kemp, and Aunt, Dr. Kamy Kemp. He is also survived by aunt and uncle Glenn and Donna Healy, cousins Katie Healy and Megan Healy, and maternal grandmother, Dolores Healy.
Austin was preceded in passing by his mother, Gail Healy Kemp and her father Gaylord Healy.
