Law enforcement officers were dispatched to State Road 408 in Orange County on Friday morning after several motorists spotted a swan on the roadway.
According to the Orlando Police Department, the swan was waddling along SR 408, near Bumby Avenue, in Orange County.

OPD officers and community service officers quickly responded to SR 408. Upon arrival, they safely secured the swan and transported it to the Lake Eola House for further evaluation.

“Although this swan doesn’t appear to call Lake Eola home, we’re happy it’s now out of harm’s way,” said OPD on social media.

The police department added that this incident should “serve as another reminder to slow down and stay focused while driving – you never know what you’ll encounter on the road.”
Earlier this week, a runaway donkey surprised motorists on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.
