A Kissimmee man recently won $1 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket he purchased at a local 7-Eleven.

On Friday, March 14, the Florida Lottery announced that 53-year-old Jose Perez visited its Tallahassee headquarters to claim a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off game.

Perez chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

According to lottery officials, Perez bought the lucky scratch-off ticket from the 7-Eleven located at 7605 Sinclair Road in Kissimmee. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR, features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life, 234 prizes of $1 million, and a total of over $1.6 billion in cash prizes. The Florida Lottery states that the game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.

Last week, lottery officials announced that two other local 7-Eleven stores – in Volusia County and Seminole County – sold $1 million winning scratch-off tickets.
