Over 200 passengers and a dozen crew members were forced to evacuate a Delta Air Lines flight on Monday morning after the plane caught fire at Orlando International Airport (MCO).
According to MCO, Delta Air Lines flight 1213 “experienced an engine fire” at around 11:05 a.m. on Monday, April 21, while the plane was awaiting departure near the ramp area.
The airline stated that a total of 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots evacuated the plane after flames were spotted in the tailpipe area of one of the plane’s two engines.

Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting personnel quickly arrived on scene and extinguished the flames.
There were no injuries reported.
The flight was bound for Atlanta prior to the fire. A Delta Air Lines representative stated that the airline will assist the affected passengers with reaching their final destinations in a timely manner.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
