Dolores Rodriguez Rivera passed away peacefully on April 15th, 2025, at 1:33 p.m., at the age of 93. Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico on August 28th, 1931, he was a resident of Orlando, Florida for eight years.
Dolores Rodriguez Rivera served with honor and distinction in the United States Army from September 2nd, 1953 to September 29th, 1955, reaching the rank Private First Calss. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War and his dedication to his country was a source of great pride. Beyond his military service, Dolores Rodriguez Rivera was a loving father of Rudy Rodriguez, Daisy Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez, Rosa Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Damaris Rodriguez, Loris Rodrigez, and Sara Rodriguez. He was also a cherished grandfather to twenty grandchildren.
A lifelong welder and entrepreneur, he was known for his strong and determined character, but with a heart full of love and compassion. That’s what he was like: a God-fearing man, whose trust and love for the Creator were unwavering.
His life was a testament to faith and dedication, and his greatest joy was being in God’s house, where he found peace, purpose, and fulfillment. He was joyful by nature, he intensely enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at gatherings and activities that filled his soul with joy. Music was one of his great passions, and with his güiro in hand, he always found a way to liven up the atmosphere. He also loved quiet moments, like a good game of dominoes, and found companionship and tenderness in his faithful pets: his birds, Qukita and Qukito, and his beloved dog, Roxy. His love for animals reflected his nobility and sensitivity. His family will forever remember his many stories, anecdotes, advice, jokes, his smile, and joy.
