A Kissimmee woman recently became a millionaire after buying a $10 scratch-off lottery ticket at a local Wawa.
On Friday, May 16, the Florida Lottery announced that 32-year-old Pamela Pontes Cordeiro Silva has claimed a $2 million top prize from the Silver Streak scratch-off game.
When Pontes Cordeiro Silva visited the lottery’s headquarters in Tallahassee, she opted to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,195,000.
The winning scratch-off ticket was purchased at the Wawa located at 7940 W Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee. The retailer has received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
Launched in September of 2024, the $10 Silver Streak scratch-off game features four top prizes of $2 million, with over $104 million in total cash prizes. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.44, according to the Florida Lottery.
Last month, lottery officials announced that an Orlando resident claimed a $1 million prize from a $30 scratch-off lottery ticket bought at a local convenience store.
