A rifle-wielding man was shot by Kissimmee police officers on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Kissimmee Police Department, officers responded to the 4300 block of W Vine Street on Thursday, May 29, after receiving reports that an individual in the area was armed with a rifle.

When officers arrived on-scene, they quickly spotted a man who was carrying a rifle. KDP stated that the officers engaged with the man, which led to shots being fired.

The man sustained gunshot wounds, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

There were no other injuries reported.
