A DeLand man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with the January 2024 overdose death of a 24-year-old woman.

On Monday, 24-year-old Nathan Vincent LeBeau pleaded no contest to several felony drug counts in three cases, which included manslaughter, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell or deliver, and trafficking in fentanyl (4 to 14 grams). Following his plea, he was sentenced to 15 years behind bars.

Back on January 29, 2024, a 24-year-old Deltona woman died from a suspected drug overdose. During an investigation by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Overdose Task Force, messages were discovered on the victim’s cellphone that showed a purchase of Oxycodone pills had recently been scheduled with LeBeau, according to VCSO.

The sheriff’s office determined that LeBeau had sold drugs to the victim prior to her fatal overdose, and detectives arrested him the following day after he sold drugs to an undercover detective.

During LeBeau’s arrest, law enforcement recovered several pills that looked like Oxycodone, though the pills tested positive for the presence of fentanyl, according to VCSO.

LeBeau was booked into Volusia County Jail on January 30, 2024, where he remained in custody while awaiting his sentencing.

The cases against LeBeau were investigated by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Overdose Task Force, and they were prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Daniel Megaro.
