An Orlando man is facing up to two decades in federal prison for sharing child pornography with another person online.
On Monday, U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced that 34-year-old Donald Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child sexual abuse material.
According to the plea agreement, on January 27, 2023, Brown visited an online website that randomly pairs strangers for one-on-one chat sessions and calls. While on the website, a “child sex abuse video” was playing on one of his screens, and he proceeded to share this video with another individual over the internet.
A sentencing hearing for Brown is scheduled for October 7, 2025. He is facing a minimum penalty of 5 years, up to 20 years, behind bars.
As part of the plea agreement, Brown has also agreed to forfeit his electronic devices, which were seized by law enforcement during a search of his home.
This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Diane Hu.
Additionally, this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, which is a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
