One person was injured and two dogs were killed after a fire ignited inside an Orlando home on Saturday morning.
According to the Orlando Fire Department, firefighters responded to a home located in the 1200 block of Polk Street shortly before 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 12. Upon arrival, they saw smoke rising from the residence.
OFD stated that its crew members managed to quickly knock down the fire and extinguish the flames.
One individual sustained burn injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further details were provided regarding the extent of their injuries.
While searching the property, Orlando firefighters located two dogs that sadly perished in the fire.
In an update on social media, OFD stated that one resident has been displaced and will stay with family.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
