A pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on State Road 44 in Volusia County on Saturday morning.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the pilot managed to safely land a small plane on SR 44 in New Smyrna Beach, near the Taganana Drive intersection, at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.
The pilot and sole occupant was not hurt.
Due to the incident, motorists traveling in the area experienced delays.
The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the emergency landing.
