An Orlando truck driver was involved in an accident in Osceola County that left one person dead on Friday morning.
The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at around 8:35 a.m. on Friday, August 15, near the intersection of Nova Road and Deer Park Road, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP stated that a 23-year-old man from West Palm Beach was heading northbound on Nova Road, north of the Deer Park Road intersection, in a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta.
The Volkswagen proceeded to veer into the southbound lane of Nova Road, directly in the path of a semi-truck being driven by a 42-year-old Orlando man. Moments later, the front section of both vehicles collided.
The driver of the Volkswagen sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The semi-truck’s driver was transported to Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An FHP trooper noted in the report that the accident remains under investigation.
