A 24-year-old man was arrested by Sanford police for his alleged involvement in a deadly road rage shooting at a local apartment complex.
On Thursday, August 14, shortly after 5:20 p.m, Sanford Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of Marbella Lane in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to SPD.
When officers arrived on-scene, they found a victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where they died from their injuries.
SPD stated that the suspected shooter, identified as Jaden Alexander Harris, remained at the incident location.
According to police, an altercation had taken place between Harris and the victim while they were driving their respective vehicles near the intersection of State Road 46 and Mangoustine Avenue.
The altercation came to an end at the Vue on Lake Monroe apartment complex, where Harris allegedly shot the victim.
“Investigators advised that this appears to be an isolated incident between Harris and the victim,” said SPD in a media release on Friday, August 15.
SPD added that the victim’s name will be released after all next of kin notifications have been made.
Harris was placed under arrest and booked into Seminole County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with second-degree homicide with a firearm.
