Two women have been arrested and charged with attempted murder after they allegedly tried to burn down a relative’s home in Apopka.
On Monday, August 18, at around 11:15 p.m., Apopka Police Department officers responded to a home located on Magnolia Blossom Court, which is within the Errol Estates subdivision. A resident had called 911 to report that her back porch was on fire, according to APD.
The resident told law enforcement that two female suspects – later identified by police as 19-year-old Alyvia Jania Green and 18-year-old Deliyah Michelle Fudge – had walked around the exterior of the home to the back porch, where they allegedly lit several items on fire.
APD stated that Green and Fudge fled from the incident location in a car, but they were pursued by officers. The pursuit came to an end when both suspects were apprehended in Orlando.
Investigators determined that Green and Fudge are related to the victim in this case. In a social media post, APD further stated that the incident appears to be the result of an “on-going dispute” between Green and the victim.
Green and Fudge were placed under arrest and booked into Orange County Jail. They are both being charged with attempted homicide, arson, and fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer.
