Irene Helen Baer Fisher, of Altamonte Springs, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 74, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Andrew (Erin); sisters Grace Mosley and Margaret Holcomb; many extended family members whom she loved and delighted in; and precious cats Jarvis and Hendry.
Irene was born October 3, 1950, in Yonkers, New York. Her family moved to Orlando, where she graduated from Boone High School and the University of Central Florida magna cum laude with a BSN. Irene then had the honor of being in the first nursing school class at the University of Central Florida. She worked for over 30 years as a nurse and always found ways to care for and connect with people.
Irene and Bob were married for 48 years and built fond memories traveling. Irene’s favorite places were the many Caribbean islands they visited.
She was an avid reader, enthusiastic supporter of bald eagle and wildlife conservation, and dedicated fan of the Florida Gators football team. One of her favorite ways to spend time with her loved ones was over a table of delicious food – whether at home or at a local restaurant (she always knew the best ones to go to).
