A comedian who holds the record for the shortest tenure in Saturday Night Live history will perform in downtown Orlando next month, and a handful of tickets are still available.
On Friday, September 27, Shane Gillis will headline a show at the Kia Center, which is located at 4oo W Church Street. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.
Known for his unapologetic and boundary-pushing humor, Gillis was named one of Just for Laughs’ “New Faces” at their yearly comedy festival in Montreal. He claimed the title of “Philly’s Phunniest” in 2016, a year after finishing third.
In 2019, Gillis joined Saturday Night Live as a featured cast member. Five days after he was brought on, and without ever appearing in a show, NBC released him for comments he made in a podcast a year prior.
In the years that have followed, Gillis has produced several successful projects, including multiple standup specials and “Gilly and Keeves,” a collection of comedy sketches that he co-created with comedian John McKeever.
Additionally, Gillis is one-half of the “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with friend and fellow comedian Matt McCusker, and he is a frequent guest on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
Earlier this year, Netflix released the second season of Tires, a series starring Gillis that he also co-created.
