Barbara Lee Bentley, 75 of Apopka, Florida passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025 in her home with her loving husband by her side. Barbara was born on September 30,1949 in Marianna, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Roy Alvin Hobbs and Nettie Kay Roberts Daniels.
She is survived by her husband Fred Bentley. Her children Treva Thurman Nell ( Carlton), Dillsburg, PA Gary Bryant Thurman, Jr. ( Sandy), Chipley, Fla. Terry Scott Thurman ( Kayla) Chipley, Fla. Rachel Bentley Smyrna, Ga, Travis Bentley( Meisha) Gastonia, NC ; grandchildren Lexie Kilpatrick, Lizzie Kilpatrick, Trey Thurman, Hunter Thurman, Dakota Skipper, Mikayla Skipper, Blaze Thurman, Brynli Thurman, Ivey Grace Skipper.
She is also survived by her sister Sarah Nell Folsom of Marianna, Florida and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barbara was a nurse for many years. Her most passionate position was with Covenant Hospice. She was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3643 where she was a past Madam President of the Auxiliary. She was a past member of the Chipley Women’s Club where she served as President, Garden Club in Marianna, Canasta Club and Marianna Ladies of the Elks.
Barbara was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had many interests and talents including her amazing southern cooking and flower gardening. She loved to travel with her husband.
She was known to have a heart of gold and helping others. She had a smile that would light up a room and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
