A 61-year-old Orlando man died on Wednesday afternoon after his car collided with a utility pole in Orange County.

The man was traveling northbound on Econlockhatchee Trail, near the intersection of Curry Ford Road, at around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP trooper noted that for unknown reasons, the man’s car – a 2014 Toyota Camry – veered off the roadway to the left and crossed the southbound lanes of Econlockhatchee Trail.

The car then proceeded to travel onto the west shoulder, where its front left section struck a utility pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was transported to AdventHealth East Orlando, where he was pronounced deceased.

The single-vehicle crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
