A 23-year-old man accused of having sex with a minor is facing additional charges after Osceola County detectives allegedly found images depicting child pornography on his cellphone.
Back in early May, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after receiving reports that a man, identified as Anthony William Falu, Jr., had allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a minor between the ages of 12 to 16 years of age, according to OCSO.
During the investigation, OCSO detectives allegedly determined that Falu had committed the sexual offense involving a minor victim, and an arrest warrant was obtained. On Thursday, August 21, Falu was placed under arrest, booked into Osceola County Jail, and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery (12 to 16 years old).
In addition, OCSO obtained a search warrant for Falu’s cellphone, and the device was seized by investigators.
According to the sheriff’s office, several images depicting child pornography were allegedly found on Falu’s cellphone, and the young boys and girls in those images “appeared to be between the ages of 4 and 9 years old.”
The alleged discovery of child pornography led to an additional warrant being issued, and Falu was arrested on Tuesday, September 9. He is facing five counts of possession of child pornography.
Jail records show that Falu was released from custody after posting bond.
The investigation remains ongoing, and OCSO stated on social media that an “anonymous complainant” recently reported that Falu has engaged in sexual activities with other minors.
