Maitland firefighters responded to a local apartment complex on Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into one of the units.
According to the Maitland Fire Rescue Department, firefighters responded to the Visconti community located on Legacy Club Drive in Maitland on Wednesday, September 24, after receiving reports that a motorist had driven through part of his own apartment.
When firefighters arrived on-scene, they observed that the vehicle had traveled across an exterior patio before crashing into the apartment and coming to a final rest in the kitchen.
MFRD stated that the vehicle was moved back outside of the building prior to the arrival of firefighters.
The driver involved in the crash avoided serious injury.
In addition, city building officials informed MFRD that the apartment building “had no serious structural damage.”
No further details were provided by Maitland firefighters regarding the cause of the accident.
