Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) State Trooper Car

A 40-year-old Orlando man was killed early Saturday morning after he was thrown from his motorcycle on Florida’s Turnpike in Orange County.

A report from the Florida Highway Patrol stated that the single-vehicle crash took place on the Turnpike at around 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, near the express lanes for Interstate 4 at mile marker 259.

The man was riding a Victory Cross Country Tour motorcycle while heading northbound on the Turnpike. A trooper noted in the report that for reasons that are currently unknown, the rider lost control of the motorcycle while entering the I-4 express lanes.

Moments later, the rider was thrown from the motorcycle, and he landed on the northbound travel lanes. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The report mentioned that the man was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.

The accident remains under investigation, according to FHP.
